Mark S. Hessert joined the Pirate Club Staff in September 1991, and was promoted to his current title of Senior Associate Director in 2004. A native of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Mark earned an undergraduate degree from East Stroudsburg State in 1977 and Masters in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in 1985.
Prior to joining the Pirate Club staff, Mark was Executive Director of the Zip Athletic Club at the University of Akron. Mark is responsible for the Pirate Club's annual fund campaign, and implemented the Pirate Rep Program in 1993, as the method for grass roots solicitation of Pirate Club members. In addition to these responsibilities, Mark is also responsible for administration of priority season ticket and priority parking assignments for Pirate Club members, and organization of Pirate Club major fund-raising events including the Pigskin Pig-Out Golf Tournament, Annual Pirate Club Auction and Trade-Wilco Golf Tournament. In addition, he currently is the Pirate Club staff liaison coordinating the local Pitt County Pirate Club Chapter and the Pirates Supporting Pirates business membership program.
Mark and his wife, Cheri, a 1995 and 1997 ECU graduate, are the parents of one child - Logan.
